Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Thursday underscored the critical role of women in Pakistan’s progress, reiterating the government’s commitment to ensuring equal opportunities for women across all sectors. He made these remarks during a meeting with a delegation from the social organization 'Women Empowerment Initiative' at the Governor's House in Islamabad.
The delegation, headed by Chairperson Qurat-ul-Ain, included Vice Chairperson Hina Zafar, Legal Advisor Sardar Naseem Khan, Sheikh Muhammad Shafiq, and Tariq Mehmood. Discussions focused on women's empowerment, their active participation in society, and the importance of collaborative efforts to uplift women in marginalized communities. The delegation briefed the Governor on its projects, including vocational training, domestic violence prevention, and support for small-scale female entrepreneurs.
The organization also requested the Governor to serve as its patron. While declining any formal role, Governor Kundi assured the delegation of his full support, pledging to contribute to social welfare in every possible way. Governor Kundi highlighted the government's ongoing initiatives to enhance women’s involvement in education, healthcare, and employment, stressing the need for joint action by public and private sectors to accelerate progress. Acknowledging the efforts of the Women Empowerment Initiative, the Governor said such endeavors not only promote women's welfare but also help build a more peaceful and prosperous society.
