PESHAWAR: JAN 21, 2026:
An awards distribution ceremony for the journalistic community of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was held at Governor House Peshawar on Wednesday, where Governor Faisal Karim Kundi presented awards to 22 journalists in recognition of their professional services. The ceremony was attended by Chairman Balochistan International Think Tank and Friends of Universe Society Pakistan Awais Jadoon, President Peshawar Press Club M. Riaz, President Khyber Union of Journalists Kashifuddin Syed, office-bearers of the Peshawar Press Club, and a large number of journalists from across the province. The awards were presented on behalf of the Balochistan International Think Tank. The award recipients included M. Riaz, Farzana Ali, Zia-ul-Haq, Shamim Shahid, Kashifuddin Syed, Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Bakht Zada Yousafzai, Zahir Shah, Faridullah Khan, Shahid Hameed, Khalid Kheshgi, Amjad Ali Khadim, Yaseen Qureshi, Arshad Aziz Malik, Naveed Alam, Saif-ul-Islam Saifi, Farooq Firaq, Wasim Ahmed Shah, Farmanullah Jan, Bilal Ahmed, Shahzad Ahmed and Alamgir Khan. Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Balochistan International Think Tank Awais Jadoon and President Peshawar Press Club M. Riaz thanked the Governor for encouraging and acknowledging the services of journalists.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi congratulated the award recipients and said that the awards were a recognition of the professional journalistic services rendered by journalists of the province. He said that journalists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were performing their duties under extremely challenging circumstances. The Governor further said that the Governor House would also award journalists from across the province at the provincial level. He emphasized that journalists of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should be encouraged at every level, adding that the journalistic community plays a vital role in pulling the public out of despair and anxiety. He stressed that collective efforts were needed to project a positive and talented image of the province to the world.
